Tarnished Medal is a short film to be shot in the Dayton area.
Synopsis: A war hero's arrival in a new hometown is celebrated, until a stranger exposes him as a fraud.
Tarnished Medal will be directed by Dan McCormack (Turning the Corner) and Mike King (cinematographer of Sundance Film Festival films Personal Belongings, Gravel and the cult films Deadbeat at Dawn and The Manson Family) will be the director of photography.
Production will occur the weekend of November 18-20, 2011.
Auditions will be held by appointment on Saturday, October 29, from 9 am 3 pm at:

[Brad] 25; A marine returning from Afghanistan; tired of the fighting and glad he's getting out. But he has one more job to do. [Lead]
[Mark] 22; a soldier back from Germany. Hasn't faced the carnage, and very happy to see his girlfriend and dad. [Supporting]
[Becky] 22, Mark's girlfriend. Extremely glad to see her boyfriend home. [Supporting]
[John] 50s Mark's dad, ex soldier. Recognizes the medal Brad has and is in awe of the young man. [Supporting]
[Young and old veterans] 20s to 50s both as extras and with speaking parts as they welcome Brad to the VFW. [Supporting]
[Bob] 50s. VFW commander. [Supporting]
[Amanda] 25 --- Also in awe of Brad and his medal. [Supporting]
[Josh] 25 Old for his age, missing right arm. A vet who has witnessed more than a young man should have to see. [Lead]
[Clint] 50 A grief stricken father who has lost his only son in the war. [Supporting]
Familiarity with the military by the male actors will be beneficial.
Brief readings from the script will be used.
